Cornwall

Next trip was Cornwall. Two UK trips in a row! This was also a Sun holiday! Char is good with her bargains.

We drove down in our car. It’s a Citroen DS4. I wouldn’t buy another. It looks ok, but the suspension is quite stiff, and you feel every bump. My first car was a Seat Arosa. My other car was a Honda Civic. That was my favourite probably. Next car I want is a Peugeot 3008, like the new one, not the old one. New one is nice man!

We stayed in a caravan, in a caravan park called Riviere Sands Holiday Park. Nice caravan, with a nautical theme almost, on St Ives bay. We didn’t really see any of the park and that, as we spent all our time out. I couldn’t even tell you what was on the site.

Lands End

We went to Lands End, which is the end of the land. They’ve got like a proper tourist trap down there! £5 for a car park. Inside the little site thing, there’s a couple of things, like a 4d cinema, and some shops and that. Then there’s the coast, which is nice. Loads of nice pics there, and the classic white sign pic, but that cost a bit of moolah, so we didn’t have a go of that.

Land’s End.
Lands End sign.

Lizard

What I thought was better than Lands End was Lizard. Really nice there. They’ve got a National Trust place there where you can look a t birds, and they had some binoculars to see some seals just chilling on the rocks in the sea. Proper windy there mind! I’m a national trust member. I signed up to an introductory offer, and then never cancelled the direct debit. I get a nice sticker for the car through the post every year.

Bloody windy!
Still windy.

Gweek

On the way back from Lizard, we went to a seal sanctuary in Gweek. We only went there as it was included in our Merlin Pass, strangely. Was ok. robs wouldn’t go again. Nice walk way through the place, with loads of seals and that. You can touch some crabs and see some penguins.

Penguin pothole

Pirate ship, Gweek.

Went to St Ives one day, but was pissing down with rain, so didn’t really get out.

Worst part of the trip was getting a parking ticket in a stupid car park. Paid a pound for an hours park while we went to the beach. Came back to a ticket. My ticket had blown over on the dashboard, so they clearly thought I needed a £100 ticket for that. Still in the process of contesting it. They’re a private company who are proper cowboys. I’ll happily go to court to contest! Simply a money making firm who just hope that folk pay the fine. They kept contradicting themselves, and sending letters to the wrong address, and sending letters on card instead of paper. Dodgy.

Nice trip to Cornwall. We had a pasty from Philps, which are pretty good. However, I’d still prefer to go to Devon. It’s not quite as far. Plus Cream Teas are probably better, and are made the right way, with cream first, then jam.

This is one of the many beaches. Can’t remember which one.
Little Mermaid-esque.

It’s a long way away.
